Best time to post on Instagram in UAE

6 October 2026. 6 min read.

The best time to post on Instagram in UAE, according to Meltwater’s UAE study (checked 2026-09-04), is between 19:00 and 22:00 on weekdays, with the single strongest slot of the week on Sunday at 21:00. Weekend engagement runs even later, peaking around 23:00. Saturday and Sunday are the UAE’s best days to post, and Meltwater found no clear worst day.

That is vendor-reported engagement data from one study, not a guarantee of reach for your account. It is still the most specific published number for the UAE, so it is the right place to start a posting schedule before you adjust it against your own results.

Best time to post on Instagram in UAE

Meltwater’s UAE figures, in full: weekday activity concentrates between 19:00 and 22:00, weekend activity shifts later to around 23:00, and the peak hour across the whole week is Sunday at 21:00 (Meltwater, checked 2026-09-04). The study also flags a Monday evening peak close to 20:00, with a smaller secondary window at lunchtime, 13:00 to 15:00. Saturdays and Sundays carry the most active users of the week, which is why Meltwater names them the best days to post.

None of this tells you what a specific brand account will see. It tells you where the audience is, on average, across the accounts Meltwater measured.

Best time to post on Instagram in Saudi Arabia

Meltwater’s Saudi study (checked 2026-09-04) names Saturday as the single best day to post, with Thursday as the best weekday. A late evening spike lands around 22:00, and the study is direct that posting after 23:00 performs poorly.

The study breaks two days down further. On Thursday, the recommended windows are late morning, 10:00 to 12:00, and anytime from 20:00 onward. On Saturday, engagement is strong around 11:00 and again between 21:00 and 22:00.

Meltwater’s own caveat applies to both studies equally: the best time to post depends on your brand, your followers and their behaviour. Treat the hours above as a starting point for testing, not a fixed schedule to lock in.

Best days to post for a Gulf audience

Put the two studies side by side and a pattern holds across both markets: weekends outperform weekdays, and evenings outperform mornings. Saturday is the strongest single day in both the UAE and Saudi data. Sunday is strong in the UAE but is a working day in Saudi Arabia, which matters more than it looks, covered below.

If you run one brand in one country, this is close to the whole answer: post on the days Meltwater flags as strongest, in the evening window its data points to, and watch your own numbers for three or four weeks before you trust the pattern over your own results.

One Dubai client, one Riyadh client, one calendar

The harder problem starts the moment you manage both markets from one calendar.

First, the time zones do not match. The UAE sits at GMT+4 year round, with no daylight saving (UAE government fact sheet). Saudi Arabia runs on Arabia Standard Time, UTC+3, one hour behind the UAE (timeanddate.com). A 21:00 post in Dubai, Meltwater’s UAE peak, lands at 20:00 in Riyadh. A 22:00 post in Riyadh, Meltwater’s Saudi evening spike, lands at 23:00 in Dubai. Scheduling by a single clock quietly moves every slot by an hour in one direction or the other.

Second, the weekends do not match either. The UAE’s official weekend has been Saturday and Sunday since 1 January 2022, with Friday a working half day for federal entities (UAE government, working hours in the public sector). Sharjah is the one exception, running a three-day weekend of Friday, Saturday and Sunday under the same page. Saudi Arabia’s weekend is Friday and Saturday, with Sunday to Thursday as the working week, fixed by royal order in 2013 (Saudi Press Agency).

Line the two up and only one day is a shared day off: Saturday. Sunday is a weekend day in the UAE and a working day in Saudi Arabia. Friday is a weekend day in Saudi Arabia and a working (or half working) day in most of the UAE. Meltwater’s UAE peak sits on a Sunday night, a day your Riyadh audience is mid-week. Its Saudi peak sits on a Saturday, which happens to be strong in both studies, so Saturday is the one day you can post to both clients at a similar local hour with some confidence it fits each market’s own pattern.

The practical fix is a calendar that holds each client’s queue in that client’s own time zone, so a 21:00 Dubai slot and a 22:00 Riyadh slot are each entered once, correctly, and never need manual conversion when you add a new client in a third country. Scheduling posts in your client’s time zone covers how that works day to day. Ignis runs each client’s scheduling queue on that client’s own clock, which removes the one-hour conversion error, without claiming a best time for you. The data above still has to come from your own testing or from studies like Meltwater’s.

Posting schedule for Ramadan Instagram

Ramadan moves the whole day’s rhythm, and the shift is documented separately from Meltwater’s year-round figures. Arab News reporting on Saudi social behaviour during Ramadan found interaction peaking after Taraweeh prayers and again before suhoor, with daytime activity compressing around fasting hours (Arab News). A vendor guide to UAE Ramadan campaigns points to a similar late-evening window, naming a post-Iftar window roughly 20:00 to 23:00 Gulf Standard Time, widened by earlier winter sunsets, plus a smaller suhoor window around 02:00 to 04:00 (Digidesire). A separate industry report estimates evening engagement during Ramadan running 25 to 40 percent above the standard evening peak, as a regional estimate rather than a Meltwater figure (SMM Nut).

These are reported patterns from agencies and media, not the same study as the UAE and Saudi figures above, and they should be read with that difference in mind. If you run clients across both countries during Ramadan, the one-hour offset and the Friday or Sunday weekend mismatch described above do not go away. They sit underneath a schedule that is already shifting later in the evening for different reasons. Build your Ramadan 2027 social media calendar now walks through planning a month of content around that shift.

None of the figures in this piece say what will happen to your account. They say what Meltwater measured, what the UAE and Saudi governments set as the official clock and week, and what agencies reported during one Ramadan. Treat the hours as a starting point, test against your own results, and keep each client’s queue on its own clock so a true time zone never becomes an accidental one. Ignis’s features page covers the publishing and scheduling tools, including per-client timezone queues, without attaching a best-time claim to any of them.

Questions people ask

What is the best time to post on Instagram in the UAE?

Meltwater’s UAE study found weekday activity concentrated between 19:00 and 22:00, with the single strongest hour of the week on Sunday at 21:00 (checked 2026-09-04). Weekend engagement peaks later, around 23:00.

What is the best day to post on Instagram in Saudi Arabia?

Meltwater’s Saudi study names Saturday as the single best day, with Thursday as the strongest weekday. A late evening spike lands around 22:00, and posting after 23:00 is reported as ineffective.

Do the UAE and Saudi Arabia share a weekend?

Only Saturday overlaps. The UAE’s weekend has been Saturday and Sunday since 1 January 2022, with Friday a working half day, while Saudi Arabia’s weekend is Friday and Saturday under its 2013 royal order.

How far apart are UAE and Saudi time zones?

The UAE runs on GMT+4 year round with no daylight saving. Saudi Arabia runs on Arabia Standard Time, UTC+3, which is one hour behind the UAE, so a 21:00 Dubai slot lands at 20:00 in Riyadh.

Does Ramadan change the best time to post on Instagram?

Reported patterns from Arab News and agency sources point to engagement shifting later, peaking after Taraweeh prayers and again before suhoor, rather than during the standard daytime or early evening windows. These are separate, dated reports rather than the Meltwater studies covering the rest of the year.
